Patients attending Royal Stoke University Hospital this morning are facing around a three-hour wait in A&E, according to the latest available live waiting-time information. Current estimates are fluctuating, so patients should expect waits to change throughout the morning.

The hospital remains affected by a critical incident declared by University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) on Tuesday 15 September, with the Trust citing exceptional pressure on services. UHNM says high patient numbers, delays discharging patients and pressure on local ambulance services are contributing to the situation.

The Trust is asking people to use A&E for serious or life-threatening conditions, with NHS 111, pharmacies, GPs and walk-in services suggested where appropriate.
