Despite the incident, the site remains closed in line with its usual opening hours and is expected to reopen on Wednesday, September 9.
Staffordshire Police are working with the relevant authorities following the incident.
Residents are being reminded not to leave waste at the entrance while the site is closed. Any waste dumped at the site will be treated as illegally dumped waste and could result in a Fixed Penalty Notice being issued.
