A mother has issued an urgent appeal for witnesses after her daughter was reportedly knocked down by a small black car on Clayton Road, close to Clayton Hall Academy and Nuffield Health. The driver reportedly stopped to help before leaving the scene.

We are appealing for information after a non-stop collision in Newcastle-under-Lyme, where a child was injured.

The collision happened at 3.20pm this afternoon (Friday 18 September) on Clayton Road, near to Clayton Hall Academy.

A small black car collided with a child who was crossing the road. A member of the public stopped to assist but we do not believe they were involved in the collision. The small black car drove off towards Newcastle Road, in the direction of the motorway.

The child was taken to hospital with leg and a head injury.

Anyone with information, relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage is urged to get in touch with us.

A mother is appealing for witnesses after her daughter was reportedly knocked down on Clayton Road this afternoon.

The incident is said to have happened at around 3.20pm today (Friday), close to Clayton Hall Academy and the Nuffield Health hospital.

According to the appeal, the vehicle involved was a small black car. The driver reportedly stopped after the incident and helped the girl onto the pavement before leaving the area.

Anyone who witnessed what happened, has dashcam footage from around the time of the incident or may have information about the vehicle is being urged to come forward.

If you were travelling along Clayton Road at around 3.20pm today, even the smallest detail could help. Anyone with information should contact Staffordshire Police or the girl's mother.
