Five Arrested After Fight Involving Weapons In Hanley

Five people have been arrested after police were called to reports of a large fight involving weapons in Hanley.

Officers were called to Town Road shortly before 4.50pm on Wednesday, 16 September, following reports of a group of people fighting in the street. Police said one person was reportedly carrying an axe, while another was said to be holding a piece of wood.

Armed officers attended the scene and carried out enquiries, resulting in the arrest of five people. The suspects include four men and one woman, aged between 33 and 50, who were arrested on suspicion of affray, with one also arrested on suspicion of assault by beating. An axe was later seized during a search of an address in the area.

No serious injuries were reported.
