Drivers travelling around Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme have been among those caught up in a major road enforcement operation this week.
Staffordshire Road Crime Team and National Highways HGV enforcement teams were out across the M6, A500, A50 and surrounding link roads, key routes used by thousands of people travelling through North Staffordshire every day.
Across the operation, 64 vehicles were stopped and 76 offences were identified.
Among those stopped were 19 LGVs and 13 HGVs, with offences including mobile phone use, construction and use offences and uninsured vehicles.
Nine prohibition notices were issued and seven vehicles were seized as officers carried out checks on vehicles using the region's major roads.
The operation serves as a reminder to drivers around Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme to make sure their vehicles are roadworthy, their paperwork is in order and they have planned their journey before setting off.
