Newcastle-under-Lyme To Get Its First Social Supermarket
Newcastle-under-Lyme is set to welcome its first Social Supermarket next month, offering local residents access to affordable food and essential household items.
The new community initiative will officially open its doors on Friday 9 October at 4pm at 21 Andrew Place, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 1DL.
The Social Supermarket has been created to provide a more sustainable alternative to traditional food bank support, while giving residents greater dignity and choice when accessing essential items.
The launch event is free and open to everyone, with local residents, community organisations, supporters and members of the media invited to attend.
The project is being led by Community Cupboard, with further information and media enquiries available from director Laura Steele via laura@communitycupboard.co.uk.
