Huge Car Crime Spree Hits Fenton and Other Stoke-on-Trent Areas as Police Issue 72-Hour Warning
Police have issued an urgent warning after a 72-hour spike in night-time break-ins specifically targeting car keys across Stoke-on-Trent.
A major warning has been issued to residents across Stoke-on-Trent after a sudden spike in residential burglaries and vehicle thefts over the last 72 hours.
Staffordshire Police have confirmed that thieves are actively targeting homes to get hold of car keys, with Fenton and Heron Cross named as the primary hotspots for the recent crimewave.
PCSO Aaron Jones, from the Stoke-on-Trent South Local Policing Team, urged families to review their home security immediately: "Over the past 72 hours, Staffordshire Police have seen a spike in residential burglaries resulting in car thefts across the area...
Enquiries for these offences are ongoing but we are asking all members of the public to remain vigilant."Police Advice for Residents:
Keep all windows and doors securely locked, even when you are at home or asleep.
Keep car keys completely out of sight and away from doors or letterboxes.
If your car features keyless entry, use a signal-blocking Faraday pouch to stop thieves from cloning your fob.
Report any suspicious night-time activity immediately via 101 or 999.
