A police pursuit involving a car allegedly linked to incidents across North Staffordshire has ended with two teenagers arrested.
Staffordshire Police said the investigation began on Sunday, August 9, when officers received a report that a silver Honda had been at a petrol station on Scotia Road, Burslem, before the driver allegedly left without paying.
The same vehicle was then reported to have been involved in a separate incident in Newcastle-under-Lyme the following day, when it allegedly drove into and damaged six garage doors on Ronaldsway Drive. The vehicle was later spotted by officers on Reginald Mitchell Way in Tunstall on Tuesday evening.
Police said the Honda failed to stop and continued towards Hollywall Lane and Talke Road. A short pursuit followed before officers successfully brought the vehicle to a stop using a stinger on Chatterley Road. The driver and passenger then attempted to run away but were caught nearby.
An 18-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and offences relating to insurance and driving without a licence. A 19-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme was arrested on suspicion of theft. Both men have since been released on conditional bail while police enquiries continue.

The incident is another example of how quickly events can unfold across the communities around Burslem, Tunstall and Newcastle-under-Lyme, with the same vehicle allegedly being linked to incidents in several locations over just a few days.
