Stoke and Newcastle Firefighters Thank Public After Toughest Days of Summer

Staffordshire firefighters have thanked the public for their support after a gruelling run of fires across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and beyond.

Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service

Staffordshire firefighters have thanked local residents for their support as crews continue to deal with a relentless run of serious fires across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the wider county.

The pressure was particularly intense during the Sandyford fire in Stoke-on-Trent, where homes were destroyed and several firefighters were taken to hospital after battling the blaze in extreme heat. Crews have also faced a string of other fires across the area, including incidents in and around Stoke and Newcastle, as dry conditions have made fires increasingly difficult to control.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has praised the public for their support and urged people to continue taking extra care while conditions remain dry. For communities across Stoke and Newcastle, the message is simple: we've seen you backing our firefighters, and they have seen it too.
