Port Vale Held to 1-1 Draw by Tranmere

Port Vale were held to a 1-1 draw by Tranmere Rovers at Vale Park on Saturday after surrendering a first-half lead.

George Byers opened the scoring for the Valiants from the penalty spot in the 18th minute, giving Port Vale the advantage heading into half-time.

Tranmere responded after the break and eventually found an equaliser through Tom Ince, who cancelled out Byers' earlier penalty and ensured the points were shared.

The result means Port Vale are still searching for their first win of the League Two season after two matches. Tranmere, meanwhile, extended their unbeaten start under manager Darrell Clarke.

Port Vale will now look to turn their promising moments into a first league victory as they continue their campaign in League Two.
